Alpha Diounkou arrives in FC Barcelona B !
FC Barcelona and Granada CF have reached an agreement on the loan of Alpha Diounkou until 30 June 2022, and reserves the option to purchase the player at the end of the season. He had played the first half of the campaign on loan to San Fernando CD in group 2 of Primera RFEF Footers, the same category as Barça B.
Power at the back The defender started out in the Mallorca youth system in the city where he grew up, and at the age of 15 moved to Manchester City, where he won the Premier League 2. This earned him a move to Granada, although he played 13 games of the current season on loan to San Fernando, and was in the side that faced Barça B at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. “I’m a fast, hard-working player and I’m coming to Barcelona to learn and improve” he said. Diounkou has dual Spanish and Senegalese nationality and has played at U17 level for Spain and U20 level for Senegal. Barcelona and Granada have reached an agreement over Alpha Dionkou. The defender will join Barça B on loan until the end of the season.
Diounkou passed his Monday medical at Hospital de Barcelona and at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The 20-year-old born in Sindone (Senegal) then got to make his first contact with the Estadi Johan Cruyff, dressed in blaugrana. Diounkou will get his first experience of Barça training on Tuesday at 11.00am in the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

Barça will also reserve an option to make the deal permanent in the summer for a player that spent the first half of the season on loan San Fernando CD in the Primera RFEF (Spanish third division).
The Senegal defender underwent a medical at Barcelona Hospital on Monday and later was at the training ground and the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
Dionkou came through at Manchester City's academy and has double nationality: Senegal and Spain. He has played for Spain U17s and Senegal U20s.
Barcelona have completed the signing of another former Manchester City player, as right-back Alpha Dionkou has joined on loan from Granada.
Dionkou, 20, left City in the summer for Granada after almost 100 appearances for the Blues at academy level.
Last season, he was registered as a member of City's Champions League squad and was a regular in first-team training. While he never made a senior appearance, he was named on the bench twice in Carabao Cup games.
However, with the path to a first-team right-back spot limited by Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo, Dionkou left City in the summer to join Granada in La Liga.
A loan to San Fernando CD followed this season, where he made 14 appearances, and now he has been confirmed to have joined Barcelona on loan without making an appearance for Granada.
Barcelona say they have the option to sign Dionkou permanently in the summer, and he will join their 'B' side for the second half of the campaign. He joins Eric Garcia, Ferran Torres and Sergio Aguero in signing for Barcelona having been at City in the last year.
